SJT Summer Gathering

Auntie Amal Community Centre had a charity barbecue on August 2, 2016, in downtown Toronto, to integrate newcomers and Syrian refugees with the Canadian community. There were some Canadian artists who displayed their work in the event. A fake designed cultural tattoo also known as Henna, was included. Everyone came together and exchanged their cultures, in a fun atmosphere. Activities included were, belly-dancing, traditional music, and Syrian dance (dabka).
Students from Saudi- Arabia, United Arab Emirates. and Libya had volunteered in the event.
Ms. Amal Kanafani said, ” We are trying to integrate the newcomers and introduce them to the Canadian culture”.
